Another Round

A non-profit foundation

Recovery shouldn't cost you your degree.

Another Round connects college students to inpatient drug and alcohol treatment — and covers the cost that stops most of them from going. Confidential, free to apply, and independent of your school.

Our mission

The help exists. Students just can’t reach it.

A student who needs inpatient treatment usually runs into the same three walls: they can’t afford it, they don’t know where to start, and leaving campus feels like ending their education for good.

Another Round exists to take down all three. We fund the treatment, we do the matching, and we hold the door to campus open until a student is ready to walk back through it.

No student should have to choose between getting sober and staying enrolled.

How it works

Four steps, and we walk each one with you.

  1. 01

    Reach out

A student, a friend, a parent, or a campus counselor starts the conversation. One short form, no cost, no obligation, and nothing shared with the school.

  2. 02

    Talk with someone

We connect you with a licensed clinician for an assessment. They determine whether inpatient care is the right level of support — and if it isn't, they point you somewhere that is.

  3. 03

    Get matched and funded

We place students with vetted inpatient partners and cover the gap insurance leaves behind: deductibles, travel, and the days a policy won't pay for.

  4. 04

    Come back to campus

We help coordinate medical leave, re-enrollment, and a recovery plan for the return — because treatment that ends at discharge isn't finished.

What a grant covers

We pay for the part nobody else will.

Grants are awarded case by case and paid directly to treatment providers, never as cash. Every dollar is tied to a specific student getting into a specific bed.

Fund a bed

Another Round is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Donations are tax-deductible and go straight into treatment grants.

  • Treatment costs insurance won't

Deductibles, co-insurance, and the extra weeks a plan stops covering mid-stay.

  • Getting there

Travel to the facility, and the intake costs that stop a student at the door.

  • Clinical matching

An assessment with a licensed clinician and placement with a vetted, accredited inpatient program.

  • The return

Help navigating medical leave, tuition refunds, re-enrollment, and campus recovery support.

+1 (404) 825-9140

Pete is from Atlanta, Georgia, and attended the University of Mississippi before moving on to Columbus State University and eventually Middle Tennessee State University. Like many college students, he experienced the firsthand pressures and struggles that come with that chapter of life. Those experiences showed him just how many students are quietly fighting the same battle, and how much it matters for someone to tell them there's another way through it. Today, he's helping build Another Round into a place where college students across the South and beyond can find hope, honesty, and the courage to ask for help.

Questions

The things students ask first.

Who is eligible?

Any currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in the United States, full-time or part-time. Financial need is a factor in how much we can fund, but it is not a barrier to applying.

Does my school find out?

Not from us. Applications are confidential. If you want help arranging a medical leave of absence, we'll only contact your school with your written permission.

What if I don't have insurance?

Apply anyway. Part of what we do is help students find coverage they're already eligible for — and we fund the gap when there isn't any.

What if inpatient isn't the right fit?

The clinical assessment is honest about that. If outpatient care, a partial hospitalization program, or campus counseling is the better match, we'll say so and help you get there.

Can a parent or friend apply on someone's behalf?

Yes. Many of our conversations start with someone other than the student. The student has to consent before treatment, but the first call doesn't have to come from them.
